Introduced in 1932 and composed by Maurice Blanchet, Je Reviens became Worth’s top-selling perfume. Its name means “I will return,” a romantic promise that carried particular poignancy during World War II, when Je Reviens became a farewell token of love for thousands of American women. A classic floral aldehyde, it opens with sparkling aldehydes, orange blossom, violet and bergamot, develops through clove-spiced florals, and settles into amber, incense, moss, sandalwood and musk.
This offering is an empty 1/2 fl. oz Lalique skyscraper Perfume bottle, circa 1950s and signed Lalique on the base. The skyscraper was Je Reviens’ deluxe presentation, first introduced by R. Lalique in 1932, and this compact example carries that celebrated Art Deco design into the postwar period.
