Arpège was created for Lanvin in 1927 by perfumers André Fraysse and Paul Vacher, and named by Jeanne Lanvin as a gift for her daughter Marie-Blanche on her thirtieth birthday. Fraysse and Vacher built the fragrance around a peach-led floral accord enriched by ambrein, the primary aromatic molecule of ambergris, giving Arpège its characteristic warmth and sensuality.
