Germaine Monteil launched Laughter in 1940 after eight years of development. The original warm floral opens with galbanum, fruit, aldehydes and citrus, then moves through gardenia, lilac, jasmine, rose and spice-tinted flowers over amber, moss, sandalwood, musk and civet. A brighter 1950 reformulation was renamed Rigolade.
