Bourjois introduced Mais Oui—“But yes!”—in 1938 as a spirited floral aldehydic scent with a richer, woodier character. Aldehydes, peach and plum open the composition, followed by clover and jasmine over a deep base of musk, sandalwood, leather, ambergris, tonka and warm animalic notes. Its cheerful name and colorful presentation gave the perfume a lively personality that remained popular into the postwar years.
