Designer Bijan Pakzad introduced Bijan for Women in 1986, followed by its American debut in spring 1987. Developed over roughly two and a half years, the rich floriental blends ylang-ylang, narcissus and orange blossom with Persian jasmine, lily of the valley and Bulgarian rose. Patchouli, Moroccan oakmoss and Mysore sandalwood give the base its opulent warmth. A lavish launch campaign and award-winning presentation helped make it a major luxury success of the late 1980s.
