Jacques Vogel created Heure Intime for Vigny in 1933. The name means “Intimate Hour,” an apt title for an aldehydic woody floral amber that moves from bright citrus and white flowers into spice, rose, jasmine, ylang-ylang and carnation before settling over sandalwood, musk, vanilla, ambergris and vetiver. Period promotion linked the fragrance with furs and close, enveloping elegance, and the scent remained in Vigny’s catalog into the early 1970s.
