Created by Jean Carles and introduced in France in 1936, Shocking translated Schiaparelli's audacious Shocking Pink into a warm, honeyed woody floral oriental. Its Mae West-inspired dressmaker torso, designed by Leonor Fini and displayed beneath a glass dome, became one of perfumery's great Surrealist presentations.
This offering is the original vintage Shocking dressmaker flacon shown, with a 4-inch torso bottle beneath a 6-inch glass dome, filled with colored liquid rather than perfume and with no damage to the bottle or dome.
